Evo 3 Gems ECU Version

Hi,
I have a Lancer Evo 3 ECU with G2.28 sticker on it. Is it possible to run 2.41 competition firmware on this ECU instead?
Also there is some handwritten stuff on the bottom where the connectors are saying "2.28 ok" and "2.41 ok", what does this mean? Is it running 2.41 even though the yellow sticker says 2.28?
