Function explaination Ign + 1/4

Post by BBrooks » Sat Nov 17, 2007 4:59 am

What is the purpose of the "Ign + 1/4" option on the mitsubishi applications in the AEM units? I currently am running a 12 tooth cam driven CAS and have been tinkering with different sync methods using two edge points per tooth on the tooth control table. I'm currently using the 1,6,1,6 method. Is the Ign + 1/4 a way of letting the ecu know the second edge isn't an evenly spaced point?

This is ONLY used for testing. And depending on mode, can advance timing by 1/4 of an internal tooth.
The required way to advance is to reduce the Timing_Alignment by 0.25 teeth.

Since the 2nd tooth = 6 (Tooth Control), it is only used by "Crank Alt Fire" fixed ignition while starting, and for checking for synchronisation.

Do you require more guidance on synchronisation strategies?
