ALS for Lancer V2.28

Post by RainR » Fri Nov 14, 2008 11:10 pm

Hello,

I have a Gems Lancer V2.28 ecu. How can ALS be enabled?

In the options there are 3 things about ALS:
1. ALS arm (Seconds)
2. ALS release (Seconds)
3. NO ALS arm ( on/off )

What any of these options do? And are there any other maps or tables, that
needs to be filled? What else there is what needs to be checked?

Also is there a possibility to switch the ALS on and off somehow?

For a ALS switch, please see manual attached to this post. Check the pin out section which has the pin to use for an anti-lag switch. Look for ALS SWITCH ACTIVE LOW on page 34. A switch connected to this pin, when pulled to ground (0v) will activate PBW/ALS.

As far as setting up the anti-lag, you need to go through the following options:
(Note most of the anti-lag options are refered to by its old name PBW)

PBW Air Max - Air temp if exceeeded will deactive ALS (Refer against parameter Air Temp)
PBW On Speed - Engine speed to be exceeded for PBW to become active
PBW Off Speed - Engine speed below which PBW is deactived
ILMT PBW ON - Enables the Spark limit Map when PBW is active
FLMT PBW ON - Enable the Fuel Limit Map when PBW is active
IDLO PBW ON - Enables the Idle Motor to open when PBW is active (Set by how much using PBW Idle)
EGRO PBW ON - Enables EGR valve to open when PBW is active
IRTD PBW ON - Enable TPS Retard Map to when PBW is active

ALS Arm and Release are timers which set the time between ALS/PBW beeing set to on and it actually activating. You should not need to use these.

I have also attached a calibration for your version which has anti-lag set up. Look at the options and maps i have pointed out for some ideas. Note that the anti-lag is quite mild, and does not use any Spark Limit, but is a good place to start.

Regards

Thanks! Will see your cal files.

But what is this TPS ALS SWT ? AS I understand , it is somekind of in-built switch, that you have to do something with the throttle to activate the ALS. AS I understand that wehn you turn ignition on and then press throttle once, then ALS is enabled? And if you do not do that, then its disabled? In that case you would not need a separate switch?

My Apologies yes i was going to mention TPS ALS SW. Yes you are correct: Holding down the throttle when you key on will activate ALS, when TPS ALS SW is ON.
