EM36 cam sensor

Post by markk » Tue Mar 11, 2014 11:26 pm

Can this ECU be set to pick up any amount of triggers on a cam sensor?

I am using a 36-1 crank, but just looking at my cam sensor setup, can this be set to just have one lug for the cam sensor to see? is this ideal ?

Regards
Mark

Hi Mark,
The EM36 can be set to have whatever tooth control you like. Obviously, the 36-1 and 60-2 are pretty popular but the ECU can cater for any tooth control you want as there is a user defined 'Tooth Control Table'.

I am assuming that you are wanting to run fully sequential injection, so one cam tooth would be adequate.

I have attached a document detailing the Synchronisation Strategies and if you send me your email address (use our contact page rather than post it here) and I have a copy of the EM36 manual (for version 01v28) which will tell you all you need to know regarding the EM36. Unfortunately, it is too big to post here. In the attached file, read carefully the section on 'SYNC MX' (3rd page) as this is the strategy for missing teeth, in particular 'Example 2' as this is for 36-1 with 1 cam tooth.

I hope that this helps.
RickS

Also, there is some documents to commonly asked EM36 questions in...

I have added the Sync Strategy document to this as I think folks will find it useful.

Best regards,
Rick
