GPS, track maps, timing and DA99-L2 loggers

Is it possible to log a Garmin 5Hz GPS receiver output witha DA99-L2 logger and then put a beacon position in the GDA software to show lap times and track position? Thanks, I have bought a couple of used DA99-L2 loggers to try and use with my Motec M800. I will also be getting the analogue to CAN 8 channel converter module. At the moment the Motec M800 is logging GPS co ordinates and speed via a serial input, and I can make a track map and put in a start / finish beacon using Motec i2 software, but the 1 meg of logging in my ECU is a big limitation if I want to also log chassis inputs like a 3 axis G force sensor and 4 wheel speeds. I assume it's already possible to do a track map with G force measurements and a IR beacon on the pit wall with these loggers and an analogue to CAN converter? Thanks. I may have more questions, very new to GEMS, want to try a GEMS ecu in another project, so bear with me please :)
