Hi Guys,

The honda k20A has 2 x cam signals (Intake cam and Exhaust Cam), with VTC applied on the intake cam only. I have hooked up the signals to the EM36 as follows:

1. Pin A11 (T2) connected to Exhaust Cam Signal
2. Pin B8 (T3) connected to Intake Cam Signal
3. Using VCC2 as the VTC signal

Am I correct?

Thanks!

Hello,

EM36 will automatically pressume VVC1 is on Cam 1 and VVC 2 is on CAN 2 so yes using VVC2 to make life a little easier i would suggest swapping the cams over but it should not matter. You can choose which CAM to sync on using the CAM edges in the software.

Hope this helps
Ed

I think it's option "Sync = Cam2" in firmware versions .00V89 and .V0.89, and some others.

If ON it looks for sync signal on T3, if OFF it looks for sync signal on T2.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the information. Just to make sure I understand, I can basically set up the VTC in 2 ways as follows:

Option 1 (Original Setting)
1. Pin A11 (T2) connected to Exhaust Cam Signal
2. Pin B8 (T3) connected to Intake Cam Signal
3. Use VCC2 as the VTC signal
4. Set "Sync = Cam2" = ON

Option 2 (GEMS Recommendation)
1. Pin A11 (T2) connected to Intake Cam Signal
2. Pin B8 (T3) connected to Exhaust Cam Signal
3. Use VCC1 as the VTC signal
4. Set "Sync = Cam2" = OFF

Am I correct?

Thanks!
