External ARF meter to EVO X

Post by Fazi » Thu May 20, 2010 3:55 pm

Hello! Welcome everyone ;)
Could I connect external AFR meter to EVO X GEMS PNP ECU, instead of wideband lambda sonde (connected directly to 54,55,56,34 GEMS pins)? If so, how to connect it? This external AFR have 0-5V output. And, how properly set the parameters?

Thanks for any advices :)

The original lambda/AFR sensors are very good giving readings from 1.05 to 0.8 lambda.
Using the option Oxygen_1or2_source you can select any of the analog inputs to be feed the the linearizing tables Lambda or Lambda_2nd_ to produce parameters Lambda#1 and Lambda#2.
Note
The options Lambda#1or2_in_X2 increase the gain so these would be turned off for a 5volt signal.
The front lambda heater current is monitored and shown in parameter Lambda_resistance as a crude EGT.
The standard inputs to GEMS ECU Analog_3 and Analog_4 are differential inputs with a tare or 50 raw units.
If these are used this offset must be accounted for.
A good choice for input could be pin Analogue_17 if not used for mode encoding for ALS or Road speed limiter.

More detail on who's wideband lambda you intend to use would help, can I recommend a GEMS designed part, or why not use the inbuild system on Analog_19?
