G.E.M.S. TATRA BOARD ISSUE.B

Post by Havrla » Sun Mar 10, 2013 12:18 am

Hi G.E.M.S.

I am very sad.
I have a Tatra T700 with GEMS ECU.
Last year ECU ceased to manage idle bypass valve.
I found a faulty IO - TPIC2404KN. IO I bought and traded.
My car is already "historically", ECU contains MC64HC11G5FN1, its replacement requires programmed ROM memory.
Please give me the binary contents of ROM memory for programming and exchange?
Do you have documentation in the archives of the ecu? You can provide, diagram, description?
The automaker Tatar, passenger car manufactured and dissociates itself from them.

Very very good thank you for every information.

Hi Havrla,
I will check our archives and get back to you as soon as I can. I suspect that this unit will have to come back to us but I will let you know.
Best regards,
RickS

1000 x Thank you very much.

I have the equipment to repair such units. I have an offer on IO, but no binary filled .... :-(

Or if GEMS has know-how in a binary file, I can send the programmed IO and lock ROM.

ROM coming from producers, thus becomes Programming GEMS, Question What version of the processor it is.
H11 version contains only the ROM and RAM memory.
Needless probably programmed. HC11?

External EEPROM contains everything you need? Program? MAPS has to know.

If you can read it, the version number will be written in the label on the EPROM. From the photo it looks like it starts 4,4 but it is hard to read. This is where the calibration will be held, not the big square Motorola processor MC68HC11G5FN-1.

My initial search did not reveal anything but I will continue to look and ask. I will keep you informed of any progress.
Best regards,
RickS

As mentioned above, the calibration is held in the EPROM not the CPU. This EPROM can be copied but the calibration within cannot be altered. Should you wish for the ECU to be serviced, it can of course be returned to GEMS.

Thank you very much.

EPROM can read and change the maps that are in the EPROM. Original maps quantities of gasoline and early spark not optimal.
Cold engine has a very slow response to the addition of performance, and low performance.
Warm engine is idling bad move - the load. Also, slow response, but no longer acceptable.
I can do a lot, but without documentation it is difficult.

Thank you.
If that would have been another prolémy, ECU will send to you.

I will have to issue you with a Returns Number if you want to return the unit to us. Please PM me, or use tech.support (at) gems.co.uk to send your details (Name, Address etc.) and I will set you up in our database. You will need to do this before you send anything back other wise it may not be accepted.

Heloo RickS

I have good news after some time.
I managed to get all the spare parts for this historic GEMS. I discovered RaspberryPi and made an ECU test fixture.
I've repaired more than 10 pieces for Tatra people.

So it's just a nice day.
