I get error message "Can not open port" when connecting

This means that the port being used to connect not available this can be for a number of reasons:
1) The port is in use by another application.
Close all other applications that could be using it.
Maybe also try temporarially disabling your virus scanner in case this is causing a conflict.
2) The port is in use by a program that recently crashed.
Reboot the system and try again.
With USB to serial converters:
3) You plugged it into a different USB port and it is no longer on the same COM port as previously setup.
To resolve this, open the ECU > Connection Setup...
Select the appropriate port.
ECU > Connect.
