There are 2 air temperature inputs:

AIT the inlet sensor mounted inside the flow meter.

Plenum in the plenum measuring the boosted temperature.

Which one used for Air Temperature is dependant on wheather MAP, Airflow, or MAF is used to derive Engine Load.

Air Temp = Plenum if MAP=On, this is for density correction.

However the intercooler spray may be triggered by Plenum, AIT, and Plenum - Air (called excess).
