dlog97 for dlog94 error in VMMAPPER
Moderators:R!C0, JonMan, RickS
Hi,
After changing my hard disk drive, I could not make working again my "dlog97 for dlog94". My laptop is whith "windows 98" os and during the MSdos startup page, an error in VMMAPPER is announced.
If I run "PCCardsetup.exe" the error log is : "!!Error21 'function not supported' while checking clients"
Alls the files usualy need are in place (in windows/system/ "vmmapper.exe, CSmapper.sys, carddrv.exe, CSL_CS.dll) and the config.sys & autoexe.bat are like they explain in help file.
What can I do?
For information, this program was working well before in the same laptop but whith the old hard dick.
Thanks to help me
Best Regards[/b]

I think this may be because you need to turn on 32 bit card support before using this software.
Unfortunately, we don't have a functioning Windows 98 computer any more, so I'm can't confirm if the following steps will work.
Go into the windows control panel. You should see a PC Card icon. Double click on this icon - if I remember correctly, it will then prompt to install 32 bit card support. Click OK where appropriate.
Let me know if this fixes it. If not, there may be an alternative method using a VxD we developed.
Best regards,
Jon.

Hi,
He seems that my laptop is yet configure in 32bits pc card mode ( and compatible Ms Dos )
The error message when trying to read a card is :"read beyon end of file"
I also dispose of the release 1.36 of "dlog97 for dlog94" that I think it's your VXD solution and in this case the message is : "error loading VXD"
All the Windows card drivers are same as in my old hard disk. I have check succefully my PCMCIA card in other laptop.
What can I do?

Re: dlog97 for dlog94 error in VMMAPPER
I apologise for reopening such an old thread, however i am trying to get "dlog97 for dlog94" working on a newly installed windows 98 machine from a backup, however i am receiving the message "Failed to load GEMSRAM.VXD". I have checked the Windows\System directory as discussed here and the file is missing. Would it be possible to download it from somewhere?
Many thanks

Re: dlog97 for dlog94 error in VMMAPPER
I have searched our archive and can't find that file...
Do you mean "GEMSSRAM.vxd" (double 'S')..?
As it's a .VXD file, it's a Virtual Device Driver, so I won't be able to attach it here (Forum limitations..!). I doubt that I will be able to eMail it to you either, as many IPs object to this type of file. If it what you're after, I'll pop it into a 'dropbox' and you can scoop it up from there.

Apologies, you are correct with double s. Thanks for your help. Drop box it great.
Off the top of your head, do you know how new an os would support the SRAM cards plugged into laptop PCMCIA slots?
Kind regards
Martin

Link sent to eMail address that we hold for you.
Re. the SRAM cards and PCMCIA slots on new operating systems, I really am not sure.
I will have a word with our Technical Director as he tends to look after all of the GEMS 'Legacy' kit. He might be able to throw some light on this and I'll post his responses here (will be next week, as he's not in today..!).
I do know that there are only certain cards that he will recommend with our kit, as not all give favourable results, apparently.

Re: dlog97 for dlog94 error in VMMAPPER
Yes, sent to "mart0389" on a 'Yahoo account' - 5 days ago.
Can you let me know what logger you are using (serial number would also help.!).
I'm not sure whether you will have any joy with reading an SRAM card with an operating system later than XP.
I know that we have had to resort to using adaptors(OmniDrive USB2 for example) and not the cheap £10 from eBay either.
Other forum users may have better information than me on this, as it's not my immediate area of expertise..!
