Escort cosworh 1996 with gem diff controllers
Moderators:R!C0, JonMan, RickS
Hi
I'm running a group a escort with active front and centre diffs.(ffd)
Is there any software to get in the ecu's as I need to access the mapping.
Front ecu s/n 33205
Version v2.03
Centre ecu s/n 97x31
Version v5.02
Is it possible to access these or are they too old.
Gems did say they can upgrade them to gwv4 for approx £150 per unit + lisence.
How much is the lisence + lead to do this?
Regards
Jim

Re: Escort cosworh 1996 with gem diff controllers
Good Morning Jim,
The price for the GWv4 software licence to download, modify and upload the calibrations is £300.00 (+ VAT).
Regarding the COMMS cable, I need to know what serial connector you have on those units. Is it a 'flying lead' or a 9 pin 'D'-type connector on the case. If you could send me a couple of photos to tech (dot) support (at) gems.co.uk, I will be able to give you a definitive price, as it might have to be made.
Hope that this helps....
RickS

The retail price for the licence is still £300.00GBP.
The licence is for the software, not the hardware that you wish to connect to. Once you have the licence, it enables you to connect to all GEMS 'non-bespoke' hardware.
Some ECUs and displays were build for specific customers and allow no access for calibration, so always check before you buy 'pre-loved' units. GEMS would need to know the version number to be able to check whether it is a bespoke unit or not and whether you have access to the calibration.
I hope that this helps, RickS
